Replenishment

Growing for tomorrow starts today

The Replenish Ayahuasca project helps ensure the continued availability of this important plant medicine. Inspired by our transformational journeys with this sacred plant medicine, we strive to pay it forward by helping replenish the Ayahuasca supply, so the support and healing can continue worldwide.

With the growing awareness of Ayahuasca, and the average cultivation time of four to five years, it’s crucial for more plants to be grown. That’s why we’re supporting sustainable and organic farming initiatives - fostering the holistic approach between farmers, soil, plants, and traditions. Holding this sacred plant medicine to the highest regard.

Mission

Replenishment & continued availability

The Replenish Ayahuasca project helps ensure the continued availability of Ayahuasca around the world. Our work involves investing in and partnering with organizations in Central America and sharing the mission to replenish one of the Earth's most sacred plants through eco-responsible, biodynamic farming.

Purpose

Preserve & respect

Ayahuasca has transformed our lives in many ways, including inspiring us to give back. Having experienced the incredible healing this sacred plant medicine provides, we have initiated a replenishment effort rooted in protecting the traditions and practices used to harvest this sacred plant. We are grateful to be in the position to partner with and provide funding to organizations helping to replenish Ayahuasca for the world so that more of humanity can experience its healing properties.

A biodynamic approach

The farming practices of the organizations we partner with are grounded in biodynamic principles designed to add vitality and richness to the soil and plants without pesticides, herbicides, or any other harmful chemical. It is our cumulative responsibility to integrate highly sustainable permaculture practices, with a recognition of spirit  In Nature, to harvest and nourish everything that goes into the ground.

Why Central America?

Banisteriopsis caapi (the ayahuasca vine) and Psychotria Viridis (the chacruna leaf) are the two plants brewed together to create the Ayahuasca mixture consumed ceremonially by Amazonian tribes for thousands of years. These two plants thrive in tropical and subtropical habitats with optimal shade, high humidity, and access to lots of fresh spring water.

The Replenish Ayahuasca project is in central Costa Rica. Central America is home to some of the most diverse tropical climates, perfectly fit for the planting, growing, and harvesting both plants.

The Ayahuasca Manifesto

“It is time to embrace humanity with my healing, extending beyond the amazon basin, reaching global expansion, spreading through all the soils of tropical climates, growing in every forest, in every sidewalk, in every house garden. Care about me, harvest me, spread me around, warriors of light from around the world. This is my planetary mission.” – The Ayahuasca Manifesto

The Ayahuasca Manifesto was written and published under the apprenticeship of Don José in 2011 and has been updated by Replenish according to the specific guidelines therein, “the information and text contained in this work is a gift to Humankind, for which this belongs to the public domain and can therefore be unconditionally copied, reproduced and/or distributed.”

Principles of Financial Stewardship & Transparency

Replenish is a social enterprise, allowing us to give back without the motivation of profit and inviting others to do the same. We've founded this upon a principle of personal reciprocity - we intend to give back more than these sacred plants have given us. Financially this means committing a portion of all Reunion revenues to be reinvested to grow more sacred plants. There are no investors involved. 100% of our funds have been given freely with no expectation other than to replenish supplies of Ayahuasca to expand healing. Our principles of financial stewardship are:

  • After our first year, publicly sharing a report of the use of our finances annually for transparency
  • Working with organizations that hire local labor for farming and ensuring they pay fair trade wages
  • Investing in high-quality cultivation practices that are environmentally friendly and sacredly administered
  • Ensuring that all suppliers we work with adhere to similarly shared principles of environmentalism and fair trade standards
